By the same token, if the bullet grazed his ear, then where did it end up? There were people seated behind him. Did any of them get hit?y that video.
Joseph said he was sitting in a set of bleachers at the far left of the podium when he heard "several gunshots" ring out. He said he saw a man a couple of yards away fall to the bottom of the bleachers after having been shot in the head. (from NBC News)
ABC ran at least to 11pm Eastern, my affiliate is in local news now.CBS has gone back to regular programming. Tracker is on right now.
ABC/NBC still rolling coverage.
Because the facts of the case have not been released, including the name and background of the man who fired the shots. Don't expect that until he has been thoroughly investigated and his family (if any) has been notified. Only then will his name and details be released. How can this thread not be political.? The incident happened at a political rally.
The BS has already started, but not by any legitimate news organization. Real news operations should reject it as soon as they hear of it. So far, the broadcast networks have been professional. The cable noise channels and other ultra-slanted noise media are best ignored. The media coverage will run the gamut from fact based reporting to the usual conspiracy nonsense. No one should be surprised by violence in the current climate...
CNN says FBI has confirmed that is indeed the would be assassin's identifyInteresting, since sources tell the New York Post it was a 20-year-old man from a nearby suburb. We'll see if that gets confirmed by the FBI or not - probably tomorrow or Monday. It is a tabloid, so I take it with a grain of salt

Every question the reporters asked could not be clearly heard and the answer was always that the information was not available and the investigation was ongoing. If the questions could be heard and/or the person would refer to the question, I may have been riveted.
The best interview I saw was from the BBC, intervieing a guy who lived just past the secured perimiter and saw the shooter on a rooftop, and apparently tried to get security's attention. This isn't a reality show where everyone is mic'd and under the control of the show producers. The police and FBI controlled that PC, and several times were asked by reporters to speak into the mic. They really had no answers because, as they explained, the secret service takes the lead on this, and they weren't at the PC. Ultimately the FBI will investigate the secret service, but it will be a while until we get answers. The house is going to hold hearings on the 22nd, and I bet even they will be frustrated by the answers they get.
