Why. The ratings seem steady I doubt they make any changes.
Plus she hasn’t done evening news since she left Hartford.

But it's no GMA though. Right now, GMA rules the roost (Heck, even the Today show can BARELY keep up with GMA). to find A REALLY GOOD competitor to GMA, you'd have to turn to Morning Joe on MSNBC (That's NBC's cash cow)
And SO WHAT if she hasn't done any evening news since she left Hartford. No one's going to even care (Much less know)
Why would she want to do it. Maybe she likes being a morning person.
I don't care how much someone "likes" being a morning person. Nobody likes dragging their ass out of bed at 3 AM to get to a studio, go through makeup and wardrobe and show prep, and then putting in two hours of trying to be their sharpest at sunrise.

Yes, the CBS Evening News is back in New York City on Monday, from Studio 47 at the CBS Broadcast Center.
It's the first totally new set in Studio 47 in 30 years. CBS tweaked the studio a few times, most notably replacing the desk and installing a new standup position when Katie Couric took over the Evening News.

How big is that studio?
Very big. If you go to YouTube and watch a clip from the Dan Rather era, you can see the working newsroom behind Rather. Room for many employees to have their desks. I wasn't able to find a square footage immediately.
Looks like a smaller set now or are they only showing a portion of it.
