It is still an Hispanic targeted station. But is is following the WMIA example in Miami of mostly English AC music with Spanish ads and jocks.strange because it was my understanding they were doing pretty good.
In Houston, probably only around Katyzuela. And that's not enough to justify a full signal. Not sure i could see it working in a Dallas or Houston market.
97.9 covers Osceola County well, though, which is where the Latinos live.I wonder what IHeart will do with "Retro 97.9", which is pretty much the same format, but only on a translator. I cannot receive this station at all in my area, except on 100.3HD3.
Remember, there is a significant Mexican community up to the NW towards and around Apopka, but they would not listen to either of those formats.97.9 covers Osceola County well, though, which is where the Latinos live.
In general, most of the Spanish language listening occurs in a market's HDHA. It is where the most Spanish dominant Hispanics live.Although 97.9 covers Osceola well enough, it is a translator. Building penetration isn't as good and people move around in their cars. Class C WOEX, has a huge advantage. Many people who commute to places like downtown Orlando will certainly prefer the full-market station in their cars.
They sold their Orlando assets to NORSAN.Does Jvc own anything in Orlando anymore? They do own a lot in north Florida
