I don't see 790 KABC on that list. I guess they hold there own or I would assume they would shut it down. And I assume if cumulus really wanted to sell it they would have by now. Thoughts???
Clearing their WW1 talk shows in the #2 market is important enough to keep KABC around. 790 still serves a purpose.
What list would that be? This one? Cumulus Shutting Down Des Moines, Flint & Fort Walton Beach AMsI don't see 790 KABC on that list.
KABC is profitable. Nearly all of the stations being shut down weren't and were running nearly all syndication.I guess they hold there own or I would assume they would shut it down.
It takes two sides to make a deal. And I assume if cumulus really wanted to sell it they would have by now. Thoughts???
WTOR is higher powered, on a great low frequency, and directional right at the Horseshoe. WHLD is high on the dial, much lower power and does not cover much of the ethnic areas of the Horseshoe at all.WHLD Niagara Falls/Buffalo mentioned in "the list" has a very poor signal in Buffalo and no FM translator. I wonder if it might be sold to a group targeting ethnic groups in Canada, similar to WTOR out of Lewiston.
They also broker out the entire weekend for community programming and infomercials. Given the expense of only having John Phillips on their payroll, they clearly turn a profit.Clearing their WW1 talk shows in the #2 market is important enough to keep KABC around. 790 still serves a purpose.
