New: WLS-FM 94.7 Chicago 1968 - 1 hour 43 minute aircheck on 7 1/2 IPS

It was recorded on May 24, 1968. The announcer mentioned the date, and then I also found the boxscore of the Giants-Cubs game that he referenced as being in the 6th inning, where the Giants were ahead, 4-0.

Three more airchecks from the above video uploader's Youtube account:

WABC 770 AM New York - New Year's Eve Top 100 Tunes of 1971

KBIG 104.3 FM Los Angeles - Beautiful Music - September 1983

WTCZ 97.1 FM Minneapolis - Commercial-Free Beautiful Music/Easy Listening Christmas Music Special

I briefly skimmed through his uploads, and the account seems to be owned by someone who is mass dumpster-diving or estate-sailing for old reel-to-reel stock. He has gazillions of commercial releases, and lots of home recordings mixed together. Several of the latter appear to be yet more lengthy radio airchecks. Judging by the view counts on most of his uploads, it appears few know about this humble treasure chest. Any aircheck collectors reading this may want to look through his account. I see the word "radio" in at least a dozen video titles. There is also lots of out-of-print media in rare genres like easy listening and beautiful music present. 101 Strings, etc. I know there are those who live for finds in that genre, as much as for quality airchecks. FYI, all. :)

The KBIG aircheck is September 22, 1983 based on the commercial for the premier of the TV show Trauma Center. On the Ohio board I posted some links to some more of this channel's uploads that I sleuthed the dates to.

So who is the announcer on the WLS-FM aircheck? He refers to himself as Big Ern at one point.

This Youtube Channel is doing something similar with found cassette tapes. There's a bunch of airchecks of KFMB "B100" San Diego from the late 1980s being posted.

If you like long form, old school, easy listening airchecks that reappear on open-reel tape after decades lost and forgotten in storage...

Another uploader has recently posted 2½ hours of KYSS-94.9 Missoula, Montana from March 16, 1970.
