Is it just me, or has Music of Your Life tightened the reins of the "train wreck" it had been over the past couple years? Ive been listening online the past couple days and it seems the Playlist has become much more like ABC's now defunct Timeless Favorites format. Ive actually reached out to their affiliation email address to see about carrying the format overnights. Not sure how many affiliates MOYL has these days, as the list I found elsewhere online is about 15-20 years old....

MOYL Format 2025

I wasn't aware that MOYL was still around.
Pretty sure the last news I read about them was when they merged with the beauty company The Marquie Group in 2018. I figured that combination didn't make any sense and wouldn't last. But I guess I was wrong!

Wasn't aware they were still around either. I was curious and googled the format. First song I heard was How Can You Mend A Broken Heart by the Bee Gees which seemed to fit a modern day MOYL. The next song I heard was Joan Jett & The Blackhearts - I Love Rock 'N Roll!

That sounds more like WVLG in The Villages, which claims to be for their residents but come now.
I have a friend who works there. You think everybody in the Villages is 90 years old?
Well, if ever a market should have a real standards station, that would be it. They still exist. West Palm Beach has one.
Dude, the people who live there are boomers who grew up with rock and roll.
Reality check:
Joan Jett and the Blackhearts' "I Love Rock and Roll" is 44 years old.
If you were 16 when you first heard it new, you're 60.
If you were 21, you're 65.
If you were 26, you're 70.
If you were 31, you're 75.

Reality check: If you're old you don't want to listen to loud music. I'm sure there are exceptions.
Enough to basically negate the sentence before that one.
Were it true, Chimp, Classic Rock stations wouldn't exist, much less be the successes that they still are.
I don't know about standards, but Sirius/XM had so many requests to keep beautiful music that they had to put it back on people's radios, and those were not old people.

Forgive me for being so blunt, Chimp, but stop quoting as fact reasons that you think something happened, without actual access to the facts. It's becoming tedious and pretty much everyone has stopped taking you seriously as a result.

That question, all by itself, shows a profound lack of comprehension about how social media has been manipulated for over a decade.
So they threw the listeners a bone because they didn't want to deal with the loud complainers.
There is that. And what I have been told is that Sirius/XM had to hire more people to respond to complaints.

More likely, they didn't want to lose the subscription revenue.
And as for "hiring more people" what was really the case was the overseas call center was paid more to have a few more people on duty.
