WMEX to carry Notre Dame football games this season

One can only guess there are a lot of Notre Dame alumni in Boston to advertise because I believe the local Catholic school (Boston College) should have the majority of the hometown fans.

Weird but it opens up sales opportunities.
Don't know about now, but historically, there's always been a decent-sized audience of subway ND alumni in the Boston area - and there were quite a few alumni/subway alumni who would buy spots in the radio broadcasts. Once ND got its own national TV package in the 90s., though, the value of the radio network games fell dramatically.

I remember the days of the past when the old Mutual Broadcasting System aired Notre Dame football across the country. They had many more affiliates than they do now. I remember Van Patrick and later Tony Roberts doing the PBP. At one point after Mutual, Don Criqui did the PBP.
