Birmingham what was a purpose of that many R&B format in Birmingham expatially on Iheart's W293CM 106.5 (WERC HD3)?

ok the 98.7 Kiss and Hot 107.7 are the most R&B popular station's, and the V94.9 (from am) is popular for local radio business and 104.1 wjld (also from am) as well, and 92.9 wtug from Tuscaloosa got a signal to Birmingham (I don't know why that happened) I understand that, but why Iheartmedia also had R&B format on w293cm 106.5 (which means werc fm hd3)??

Multiple reasons why...

Offer the format in sales combos, clear syndication and national sales networks, chip away listeners from the other stations to help boost other iHeart stations in demo.

Also, WTUG being audible in an area is not the same as targeting Birmingham. Listeners rarely are aware of fringe or out of market signals unless they offer something unique not available in the base market. WTUG is not a factor in Birmingham at all.

and what if there's another stations on 92.9 in Birmingham (or east part of it) that interference wtug?

First, use "those maps" with skepticism and awareness of limitations. For example, that map does not show the effects on WTUG in "downtown Birmingham" and anyplace to the north and northeast of Red Mountain.

That said, the innermost red contour is the only one where any significant measurable listening occurs... and even then most is further inside that red circle.

Having signal and serving an area are two different things.

That map doesn't show potential interference from adjacent signals such as the translators on 92.7 and 93.1. WTUG does not market to the Birmingham metro so 99% of listeners are not even aware of its existence. You may be able to hear the station at times, but that doesn't make it something serving Birmingham.

I do not understand what you're asking in the second question. There is no way for a 92.9 to be placed in Birmingham itself due to the translators on 92.7 and 93.1 and the proximity of WTUG if that's what you're asking.

maybe that 92.7 translators is from iHeartmedia's W224CK because black info network, but you talk about 93.1 translators that's not from Birmingham (unless it's from outside) that W226CT simulcast by "La Jefa 98.3", maybe 93.1 is not 100% translate for Birmingham because there 2 93.3's in Birmingham

There was a CP granted to Courtney French Broadcasting (WATV-AM) for a new FM translator at 92.9 in Birmingham (W225DA) several years ago. Seems as though the xmtr was to be located just NW of downtown Birmingham. The CP was never built out and canceled, however.
