Why are they canning sales reps? Don't they work on a guarantee plus commission? If they don't do enough business to cover their guarantee they're shown the door. At least that's the way it use to be.

It hasn’t been that way in a long time. The introduction of programmatic ad buys 11 years ago allows advertisers to buy direct:


For the few live sales bodies still required, blowing them up allows iHeart to bring in new ones at lower guarantees and with lower commissions. It’s a race to the bottom.
