Air 1 95.5 Greenville Anderson adds HD2 and HD3 to the signal

Nice to see them making use of the station being in HD. Unfortunately their HD signal is shaky at best in to Greenville around Haywood Rd and in parts of Anderson. HD is difficult on a class A.

It’s interesting how much higher the ratings are for Air1 on 103.3 than 95.5.

When they moved 95.5 it made it more difficult to receive WSB on FM until you get further past Anderson and down into Georgia. Fortunately they retained the 750 simulcast, although a bit of static at times but listenable at the Clemson exit. Wish WBT had kept their 1110 simulcast for fringe reception and the night time skywave up and down the east coast. But they have some other plan in mind, but it indefinitely remains to be seen.

Maybe Air1 puts HD on 103.3 WLTS 's signal very soon.
and perhaps they can file for a slight power upgrade / increase on both WLTE & WLTS, to a Directional C3 Signal, instead of the current Non-Directional Class A.?

I forget the details, but years ago it was explained that 103.3 and 95.5 were already shoehorned in as they could be. I know 103.3 can’t upgrade to a C3 status at least due to 103.1 in Honea Path and 103.5 in Greenwood.

When WLTE was on 95.9 it was a directional 'A' Signal, in place to protect the Charlotte station on 96.1 .. but if the same rules apply, where 98.1 in Seneca (was almost able to move to) the WJMZ tower, directional towards WPEG, but much closer to the metro and maintaining its Full Power Signal, I think with the same criteria, WLTE on 95.5 can do that as well (but only slightly) and only with a Directional setup with protections towards WXRC and perhaps WEGG/WSBB.

WLTS on 103.3 I'm not so sure however, with neighbors WKVS and WHQA / WZSN all within 60-80 miles, and WJMX is a bit further away, but is a 50kw C2 station.

Air1 in HD on WLTS 103.3 would still be a nice upgrade.
