Post your latest DX

I really like those kind of DXing videos where the camera is held close to the radio.

Hope to see more of them. (y)

Glad you enjoy them. Here's my latest one. KDKA 1020 AM Pittsburgh heard 405 miles from my location in eastern Ontario Canada at 03:00 hours. Radio is an Emerson ATS-803 with internal antenna.

That's kinda low grade, but if its all you can do.

When I do my dx videos, audio from the radio is fed directly into the phone camera at the same time... no dubbing lately

See my YouTube channel: Paul Walker

Play a video and you'll hear the difference between radio audio fed directly into the phone vs the phone held up to a speaker

my genuine version 4b si4732 radio made by AMNVOLT.

(If it doesn’t have the name AMNVOLT under the knob, it’s not genuine and is a knock off)

R. Nacional de Amazonias 11780 khz from a tx site 40km nw of Brasilia, with 100KW TPO, about 2-3MW ERP into a curtain antenna beamed at 312 degrees azimuth.

I'm just a hobbyist. I'm sorry if my videos are not up to your standards. You don't have to watch them.

im sorry, i shouldve included how to do it better.. for about.. $30 if you look carefully on ebay you can find the parts needed

The only frequency Radio Havana Cuba has on air tonight on SW sounds awful!

So much noise on the signal that is somehow caused by them, buzzing and humming… I can hear the program audio but I can’t discern what language it is!

KEDA 1540 San Antonio, TX at 0245 June 23 with Spanish music. I gotta wonder how that night pattern makes it here.. but if they were on days, you think it's be stronger even against KXEL. KEDA, I wouldn't say is incredibly common, but its not rare either.. but not always too good

XEHB 730 Hidalgo del Parral, Chihuahua, mexico

“La Mas Picuda” liner and full station ID with calls, frequency and power that even this gringo that failed 7th grade spanish and never took it again, understood.

“Stream us online by searching Heart n Soul 96.7 and 1380 on the Iheart Radio App”. loud and clear for a minute or two. KXCA 1380 Lawton, OK at 924pm MT/1024pm CT June 22, 2026 in Laramie, WY

Good find, Paul. Interesting to hear what your regional frequencies sound like there. The Red Lodge nighttime AM dial will be unfamiliar at first, I suppose, with stations like WLW, KMOX and WLS likely nightly regulars...maybe even WSM if Saskatoon isn't crazy strong. I travel there this weekend.

Also, there's a potential for graveyard AMs in CO, KS, NE, SD, ND, MN, and even IA from there, along with other western states. I did very little AM DX from Cascade, but even there the dial was different than Yakima. Butte MT 550 and Ephrata WA 810 were weak but steady daytime regulars along with 590/700/920 Spokane.

my most common graveyards here are south of me… Las Vegas, NM… Silt, CO.

Had some Es yesterday down in Goldendale, WA, just above the Columbia River Gorge in Klickitat County. I was working on an Amazon delivery route. It's Prime week after all. All logs between 1 and 1:30 PM PT. Goldendale is over 50 miles from Yakima, so nothing counts for the logbook. The Ram delivery van has a relatively sensitive RDS feature. MUF wasn't high. I was also parking the truck, scanning packages, and getting out to deliver...what I should be doing, of course.

90.9 KDSD Pierpont SD w/ open to All Things Considered and RDS "SDPB". 70KW 1114 miles

89.1 KLBF Lincoln ND, Faith Radio with Susie Larson Live. 2.3KW 956 miles

92.1 CITI Winnipeg MB with ID sweeper. 140KW 1128 miles (grandfathered)
94.3 CHNW Winnipeg MB, RDS with song/artist "on Alt 94.3", 100KW 1122 miles

I am leaving tomorrow at 7AM for Montana. I'll be visiting the Bitterroot Valley on Friday-Saturday, and then head east towards Red Lodge for a Sunday midday arrival (visiting with my new admin and superintendent, also with restaurant owners about getting part-time work before I start teaching in late August). I leave Yakima permanently around July 25th or so.

I am spending one night in Hamilton, Montana en route to Billings and Red Lodge to visit my new admin and bosses, see my new classroom in person, and more. Unfortunately, the weather this weekend is April-like, with light rain and *50s*?! Yeah, seriously.

Some verrry interesting FM DX just noted...and as my luck I forgot to take my recorder outside from the living room of this Airbnb. UGH.
On 99.3 about an hour ago I had a fadeup with a DJ talking about the K Days event, musical guests coming, and the Expo Centre on 118 Ave. It was CIUP "Up 99-3" EDMONTON AB...501 MILES!! This did NOT sound like meteor scatter at all, almost like slow aircraft scatter. Just the strangest long-distance FM DX. I swear I heard it. At the same time I confirmed CHLB-95.5 Lethbridge at 240+ miles with a stream match to a Faith Hill song, more general aircraft scatter.
KQEZ St. Regis cannot be heard here, and the Missoula booster is off. 99.3 is clear. I was actually looking for my (soon-to-be) local KMXE Red Lodge.

Could the CIUP signal have been reflected off one of those Starlink satellites? They are hundreds of miles above the Earth, after all. I have seen satellites on orbit on clear nights in pollution-free areas before. They are not like an airplane that blinks, but rather just flies over in a steady line.

None of the Radio Havana Cuba currently in use SW frequencies (9710, 11760, 11880 or 11950) have been on air for 4 or 5 days when I do my checked just after 0000UTC each day

from WBCQ:

Due to technical problems with our 7.490 khz transmitter, we have temporarily switched all 7.490 programming to 6.160 khz. We are working to restore our 7.490 services as soon as possible. You may also listen on our online stream as usual. We apologize for any inconvenience.

CJOB like a ton of bricks into the Billings area this weekend. I also get KNX quite well here. More AM DXing in a bit before I go to bed.

Tonight, I had some nice E-skip into an Airbnb in Park City MT (near Billings). I spent much of the afternoon in Red Lodge with the staff of that school, and then found a cheap Airbnb for $102 a night in nearby Park City. AZ, Sonora, and a bit of NM. MUF to the top at times, and all from 8:10-9:10 MT tonight.

- 105.1 KHOV Wickenburg AZ with Que Buena ID...over local KYSX!
- 90.7 KRWG Las Cruces NM, RDS
- 88.9 KRUC Las Cruces, Manatial ID, and only 500 watts

I think I will count all of this for the new logbook...coming late July. Nice to have Es BEFORE I move! Distances between 815 and 1049 miles.

Edit some AM observations, of course it's summer so the noise level is high and conditions aren't great:
Solid KIDO-580, same w/ KBOI-670
KNRS-570 Salt Lake City with something underneath, also a talker...either KVI or WNAX
KKSE-950 Denver with Fox Sports, loud and strong.
KLVZ 810 Brighton CO with oldies and hint of something underneath...probably KSFO! This is so strange for this PNW guy. To not hear the ex-KGO at S9+20dB on a road trip...
WGN 720 solid but 780 plagued by noise
KOKC 1520 way over KKXA.
KGLB-1310 Glencoe MN with classic country on top of 2-3 others
CBKF-2 solid on 860 from Saskatoon. No sign of KTRB.
A Christian station on 940 mixed with CJGX. Probably KPSZ Des Moines IA. Never heard from WA.
KVGB-1590 solid, also KNUS-710 with no KIRO noted. KNWN-1000 solid however at 650 miles. Was hoping KTOK or WMVP would make an appearance way out here. I wonder if KNWN makes it into western ND?
