Caught this driving through the area, they ran Spanish language Christian programming for 10 years. This morning was hearing 60's-70's music and pieces of "The TJ Show".

Easton's WKHZ 1460 Now Oldies

I finally took the time to tune them in today; they were playing the same song as WNAV but 20 seconds off...but then the next songs differed. One of the ID's, "KHZ" sounded as if it could have been voiced by Scott Shannon but I'd have to hear it again. It sure sounds like the same format. So, do those stations just get randomly programmed locally off a hard-drive vs a satellite feed? I'll tune in more through the week. I did hear an ad for a local company which makes me think it's more than just a time filler.
I can barely hear the station listening on a virtual tuner. To me it sounds like it's being programmed by B106 out of Pocomoke. I heard an ad for something in that area referencing B106. However, only one ad played during that commercial break. And, the music didn't match what was playing on B106. So, it must be a separate playlist. The original KHZ jingles are being used from when Bill Parris ran it as a CHR/Oldies mix on numerous AM stations across the region. Speaking of which, what is going on with 970 WAMD and 1330?
They seem to be running automated classic hits, simulcasting.
I've probably listened to WKHZ over an hour this week. I only hear the same two commercials, for businesses in Pocomoke, MD and Laurel, DE. The former is a longtime advertiser on WOWZ. They're running the TJ morning show, syndicated and with a website...which shows WGOP Pocomoke as an affiliate but doesn't currently list KHZ. And...they list an affiliate in Aberdeen but the information is corrupted. Website comes back to Maryland Media.

I asked Steve Clendenin and he said he has nothing to do with WKHZ
It's now ORN1460. Outdoor Radio Network. Odd if Clendenin / B106 has nothing to do with WKHZ they feature programming from "our stations" which lists Outdoor Radio Network on the B106 website. Tried listening for awhile it was an absolute snoozefest. I can't imagine anyone listening to this for any long period of time. Reminds me of the old Genesis Talk Network that you would often find on a third, or fourth lowly rated AM talk station in a market.
I was listening a few days ago, on a weekday afternoon, and it was almost painful. I couldn't really figure out what the guys were talking about...and I wondered if even they knew! I kept wondering if they were going to play a song...or something.
I was told they are only running some of those shows on weekends. Not a flip, not a rebrand.

Checking out the ORN website, right now it says B106 is airing only select programming but 1460 is ORN 24/7.
I’m not into hunting, but I might listen to the fishing shows. This seems like a niche format but I hope it works well.
Listened this morning around 9am and WKHZ was ORN1460 with a fishing show. Much better signal too compared to months ago, as much as a 1,000 watt high-dial directional can be.
Around 20 years ago WCEI AM/FM had a big yard sale; I showed up at the end and bought every bit of magnetic media they had for $5. Ha-another buck and I could have had 1460!

New owners have some FM translators I can see them moving.
