And if the government doesn’t approve the sale doesn’t go through.
If the government doesn't approve, there will be more lawsuits. The government has no legal reason to oppose the sale. It's all political.

Miller Huggins was the Yankees' manager. He is in Cooperstown as a manager. You over-rate the importance of air talent. We're not talking about a sports team. The executive producer isn't a player. The issue isn't the staff. It's what they do. They know what they want to do. But if the government is pressuring their company to stifle what they do, that's a bad thing. It's as if the government passed an executive order that says Miller Huggins can't play anymore. That's a whole different thing, don't you think? The government should not be using its power to interfere in journalism.

I know you can't have a bunch of prima donas going off on their own without somebody hold their leashes. And you know nothing about the staffing at 60 Minutes.

Owens' official replacement has yet to be determined, but 60 Minutes executive editor Tanya Simon will take over the program on an interim basis in the meantime, per Variety. In his memo, Owens described Simon as an "amazing partner" and said he was "grateful" for her and others.

Pressuring CBS/Paramount, and threatening other networks over their media coverage. Defunding public media. Lining up a softball interview on ABC. Banning wire services from the White House. Weaponizing the FCC against broadcasters that don't fall in line...
What's left for a dictator to do but start up his own taxpayer-funded State Media propaganda outlet?

I heard something on NPR yesterday about the networks getting their licenses taken away. I'm surprised whoever was reporting didn't say that only the stations have licenses, and that whoever was saying what was said was wrong. No, networks are not licensed But they have owned and operated stations and that is where they make most of their money.
True but it's Trump own rants or the FCC Chairman's own statements that ended up looking like networks are licensed but it's the local affiliates as we mentioned here.I heard something on NPR yesterday about the networks getting their licenses taken away. That's probably what NPR was referring to.True but it's Trump own rants or the FCC Chairman's own statements that ended up looking like networks are licensed but it's the local affiliates as we mentioned here.
If you look at all the data, the networks make much more from the net than from the operation of a few local stations. And that was true when local TV was more significant and much more now when OTA tv is in descent. No, networks are not licensed But they have owned and operated stations and that is where they make most of their money.

That does not change the fact that O&O’s are less and less of a revenue source fore the whole enterprise.Yet the chairman of the FCC is directing his investigations at the three networks, while using the stations as his justification.
However, the Republican intent is obviously to make the “public” think that they have regulatory control of the networks. For public radio & TV, his investigations have to do with the network sponsorship announcements that air on those stations. Not station sponsorships.
True too but that's not how this goes with this administration. Apparently this search warrant didn't even go through the courts it went through a higher ranking ICE agent instead.Doesn't the 4th amendment say something about unreasonable searches? Did they have probable cause or was this merely a fishing expedition?
