“The Price Is Right” Leaving L.A.’s Television City

The only other time they ventured outside TVC was in 2002, when they did their 30th anniversary show from Las Vegas.

What happens to the Bob Barker studio(s)? Does it stay at Television City or move with TPIR?

It's actual name is Studio 33. The Bob Barker name was added in 1998. Who owns the plaque? Probably the studio. The show can probably use the name at the new location.

All of this is a result of Paramount selling Television City to a real estate developer. Studio space is very plentiful in the area.

Hackman Capital, which owns Television City, also bought CBS' other Los Angeles lot (Radford) in late 2021, and there's a planned renovation in the works over in Studio City as well. Just like for Television City, the Radford renovation is another billion dollar project for Hackman and co-owner MBS Group.

As one who was there many times, the renovations are long overdue.

The article says Freemantle (the production company for TPIR and LMAD) has a long-term lease at the new site.

Don't know about The Young and The Restless or other CBS shows that still tape there.

Sony could relocate production of Y&R to its own studio lot in Culver City, or production could move to CBS’s other major lot at Studio City, the Radford Studios.

It’s LA, so there’s quite a few facilities to move production to for both Y&R and B&B.

Hope CBS moves back after the rehab there is done.

It might not be a CBS decision anymore, since they no longer own the building. The main goal is meeting the budget. If the new owners are spending billions to renovate, they might increase the price for studio time.

CBS had a 5 year lease when they sold it, unless they sign a new lease.

They sold Television City in 2019. They sold the CBS Studio Center on Radford Avenue in 2021. They probably have a lease there for KCBS & KCAL TV. If they still need space, there's lots of room at the Paramount Pictures lot on Melrose.
Is Studio Center where The Talk, ET and Big Brother are?
