10,000 SONGS IN A ROW? 9,957 OF THOSE BEING THE SAME ONES...OVER & OVER

Do you know what Mike Joseph's "Hot Hits" format is? Did you ever listen to the Mighty 690? Do you know what CHR is?

The station sounds good. It's tight, it's bright, it's playing the hits, processing is awesome, imaging is good and not unlike KIIS (it's no amatur Movin' imaging)...the station "sounds" like a major market station out of the box. So far, so good. The best START for a competitor to KIIS since Power hit the airwaves.

I'm listeningon the stream right now - reception where I am isn't great ... The processing and pitch are key to the sound.

I have not listened to their stream just the over the air signal and the processing is just incredible. It's loud and compressed yet bright and clean. I love it.

They have a solid quality stream as well... I'm wondering how much they are pitching up the music.

Just logged on to check 'em out...guess what the first song I heard was?

Chris Brown "Run It"

Well, that's one question answered...

Yeah the station sounds good. They could give KIIS a hard time. I don't know about the name "AMP." I mean is that something that can stick like "KIIS" or "Power?"

Doesn't matter - not the diary game. All they care about is if people tune in.

The most prominent repetition I've heard is that virtually all the songs have "in da club" in their lyrics! ;D

Is "KIIS" really the first word you would think of naming a station?

And "KIIS" has nothing to do with top 40. The orginal format that replaced KKDJ in October 1975 was Adult Contemporary.

Wikipedia is wrong about when KIIS began its current top 40 format. It was not 1981. It did not start evolving back to a CHR until late 1982. Dees had been at the station for well over a year and was failing until the stunt pulling Dees off the air for something he "said" gave him the publicty he and (the evolving into a CHR format) KIIS had needed.

If I REALLY wanted to get people's attention, I'd name a station something catchy and unforgettable, like Sexy 103.9... or something like 99.5 Condoleezza Rice.. or something, and I GUARANTEE that it would draw some much wanted attention, even if done for just a week.
