10 AM on 96.9, and...

I'd like to know, and anyone can answer this if they know? Please tell me, how, HOW, in the world can they hire Peabbles, when I never saw a Job Posting for On Air Hosts on their website?
Why is it, this always happen with most radio stations?
And when I want to apply, and try to move up, nobody ever hire me?
How do these people get hired just like that when there is no postings?
Please tell me this?
That is not fair for those of us trying to get jobs in this field.

UM. ??? Pebbles was a mid-day jock on am1090 WILD (very urban) for 7 years. Cadillac Jack programmed Power 105.1 in N.Y. (also very urban).
 
Perhaps they should buy the intellectual property of Hot 97 Boston and bring them back...on a frequency that's close to 97. It did really well for a pirate station.
 
969 is a great signal for an E.D.M. format because you can hear it outside of Boston. Mike was tried on 93.7 and is now WEEI-FM.

I don't think that they have an obligation to post every job opening on their web site. And if they already knew who they wanted to hire there never was a job to post. They do have to follow EEOC guidelines but I am not sure if that covers on air talent. Do you work in radio? I thought you worked in health care. Without major market experience, I doubt you would have much of a chance getting a on air job at a 96.9. The other problem is there are a limited number of places that someone can get on air experience in the Greater Boston area.
 
And how many of the zips outside of the Boston metro would be likely listeners to an EDM format? Not enough to matter to the advertisers.
 
Just for fun to stick it to KISS & AMP they should do CHR tomorrow, only a lot better than they do. Oh yeh I forgot, they already play the same songs every 5 hours if that.

Well I'm also a Bostonian and used to listen to Pebbles spin music all the time on WILD. Yes she also did the news and liners and a whole lot of things at that station. Small AM's don't have a lot of money for production.

I listened on the drive home Friday night. I've had it going via the stream since about 11am Saturday. Just so happens I've been sick this weekend so I get to listen to it constantly. I realize it's all on a 4 or 5 hour loop but I don't care. It sounds great. I think the only song I've gotten sick of is Funky Cole Medina.
 
if this is the format I don't think they would do the same songs in a row every 4hours seems kind of dumb,lets look at some of the songs maybe some do have a meaning.
 
damn, I inadvertently dumped the stream and cant get it back. The Mike no longer works. 969thebone.com doesn't work. Help!

link isn't working the classic rock that really rocks domain is now being used but isn't working for some reason. And Laurojrm its a stunt where have you been??
