As of 1/21/10, 100.1 FM in the Las Vegas Valley now playing oldies. I listened closely to the weak signal and it is a simulcast of the KRCY FM signal which normally airs on 103.9 FM Bullhead City/Lake Havasu, AZ and in Laughlin, NV. Gone is the simulcast of the country music formatted KHWG AM from Fallon, NV which previously aired on this frequency, (that I reported just before Christmas). KRCY FM is a.k.a. "Murphy Broadcasting's Krazy FM". As you head toward Lake Havasu, AZ the signal is also heard on 96.7 FM. They feature TRI-STATE NEWS, a service of Maddog Wireless.
I don't know what is going on with 96.7 FM in the Las Vegas area. So far, the frequency has dead air, but not completely. When you tune in at times, it sounds a little different than all the other open frequencies. Perhaps, someone is preparing the frequency for broadcast and I'm hearing low power transmitter threshold. I'll update ya'all later when anything changes.
