Re: Old School Cincy - 100.3
Urban Oldies is different than Jammin' Oldies. Whereas Jammin' Oldies typically consists of smaller playlists, heavy repetition and an emphasis on CHR crossover hits (especially from white artists), Urban Oldies sticks to the format. I'all use the recently departed WDAS-AM in Philly as an example (owned by Clear Channel). Their playlist consisted of lots of Motown/Stax, James Brown, All Green, 70s-80s funk (even more obscure stuff like Lakeside, Brick, Mandrill, etc.), and some crossover stuff. I haven't listened yet, but I imagine it will be a bit more watered down, though minus the JO repetition.
