102.9 the Whale trying to get Y-102.5 WYPH-LP shut down

102.9 The Whale is trying to get Christian Contemporary Y-102.5 WYPH-LP shut down. They're running announcements that a new religious station owned by New River Community Church is causing people in Manchester to have trouble picking up 102.9 The Whale and listeners should send complaints to The Whale so they can submit them to the FCC.

I, Brammy would like to point these things out.

1. Y-102.5 is not a new station. It's been on the air for several years.

2. 102.5 is the frequency Full Power Radio plans on using to relay WMMW (1470).

3. Even near the transmission site, do you really expect me to believe a 100 watt station on 102.5 is interfering with a 19,000 watt (approximately) station on 102.9?

Their reception is no different for me when walking around much of Berlin, Newington or Cromwell. I know they still transmit from West Peak in Meriden.

I believe Connoisseur attenuated DRC-FM's signal to the west and southwest to protect a station it owned playing the same music in Fairfield County. Didn't want cannibalization. Now that 102.9 is owned by Red Wolf/Full Power/Whatever, there's no reason to protect any Connoisseur stations anymore, unless there was some sort of under-the-table quid pro quo when Fuller took DRC off Connosseur's hands, right?

youre a few miles off, it was this station https://radio-locator.com/cgi-bin/pat?call=WBZO&service=FM that they neutered WDRC For

I had to check that link. The station in question is WBZO-FM 103.1, licensed to Bay Shore, NY (Suffolk County). Their former sister station in Fairfield County is WEFX-FM 95.9 of Norwalk (95.9 The FOX). I never got that station in New Britain, largely due to WKSS-FM 95.7. Their transmitter is also on West Peak in Meriden, just like WDRC-FM is.

Sitting in the car waiting for my Mom at St. Matthew's Church on Church Avenue in the Forestville Section of Bristol (off Stafford Avenue), I gave the dial a spin.

Does your mother know you did this?
