103.3 AMP to have teenage girls as DJs in December.

This is wack.
Real DJs in 2013 I guess.
The bosses at AMP are busy hiring our new DJs for 2013… But until then, we’re turning control of the radio station to YOUR school! The AMP Radio High School Takeover is coming in December, and YOUR school’s cheerleaders can take control!

YOU can introduce the songs!

YOU can shout out your friends!

YOU can talk crap about your rival school or anyone else you don’t like!

Brilliant PR move, but it's not going to be good radio. But then, the old-fogey concept of "good radio" won't matter one bit to the target audience, so maybe there ought to be a moratorium on criticism of CBS Radio on those grounds in this forum.

I liked this idea when it was called "Jelli."
WOW! NOW it will be a perfect station for selling "Clearasil", "Oxy-10" and energy drinks. It's like WBZ-FM during it's "'BZ-FM Top 30" days (phone-in intros in front of the current tunes of the day).Oh, boy!!!! Like, ya know, like..........

This is up there with the Shaw's/Red Sox radio promotion that had kids intro the players on radio during one half-inning...or a team having a kid out on the field to say "Play ball!". They prob do
stuff like this on Radio Di$ney, too.

Meanwhile....teenage boys across New England are boycotting the station, because even though some of them may be cheerleaders, they refuse to go on the air and admit it.

Yeah, this is awful, because the girls will be doing live breaks. GTFOOH! This is no different that the sweep starters that Kiss runs with the fake listener testimonials.

In a short 6 months from Paula and JJ to this-- wow ----- Great move CBS

If this is indeed the demographic the ad agencies are paying a premium to reach, it will be a great move for CBS, with sarcasm mode most definitely "off."

I haven't heard high school shoutouts on the radio in YEARS.. Literally, the last time I heard them was when WDRQ/Detroit would have cheerleaders announce the top songs of the day and this stopped in probably 2002.
