103.9 NHPR Translator in Portsmouth on the Air...

I don't think this has been posted here at all, but when driving up the NH coast towards New Castle and Portsmouth, NHPR was very clear on 103.9 FM. I thought it was an image or something on my cheap radio, but there it is on the NHPR website on the left hand side: http://www.nhpr.org/

This translator station is not listed however, on Radio-Locator.

I heard the same thing a few months ago driving through Dover Point. I thought it was pirate at first, then found out it was NHPR. Their translators to have very good signal quality considering they are very low in power.

Me too, I thought it may be a pirate also, but no. What is this translator's call sign, and where is it transmitting from? Anyone know?

Isn't there a 104.3 in Dover that is NHPR? Do these two stations have much of an effect on WBCN 104.1?

Actually, WBCN comes in quite well on the outskirts of both Dover/Portsmouth. You'll notice with many of the Boston stations in those cities, as you get closer downtown near the mills and other buildings you tend to lose the signals more often, naturally. I really wouldn't think it'd be due to the NHPR signals however.

Well then please tell me this TXengineer...
Which site is correct in regards to say, W242AA Beacon Hill 96.3??

The Fccinfo.com site :>(
http://www.fccinfo.com/CMDProEngine.php?sCurrentService=FM&tabSearchType=Appl&sAppIDNumber=168259

or Radio-Locator :>)
http://www.radio-locator.com/cgi-bin/pat?call=W242AA&service=FX&status=L&hours=U

Fccinfo.com has the highly directional signal going due north from Cambridge (42° 21' 42" N, 71° 05' 03" W) away from Beacon Hill, where Radio-Locator has the signal heading generally East, right towards Beacon Hill.

Even BostonRadio.org thinks the coverage heads towards Beacon Hill

Hmmmm?
