103.9 The Hawk is coming in around Fresno again. At least for now, I hope!

Heres a Question did KZPO go off the air,I'm receiving KATM 103.3 Cat Country with a good signal from Modesto in Clovis. I know KATM has 50KW ERP on the valley Floor and KZPO only has 280W ERP in Visalia come in all of the time ,could it be Tropo conditions over riding it.

Also don't forget that KRZR 103.7 is broadcasting a HD signal which can cause a lot of interference on the adjacent 103.9 in Fresno unless atmospheric conditions allow for 103.9 to overpower that HD signal.

I was reading this thread, and going to say that. But you beat me to it. Most likely KRZR lost their HD transmitter for those 3 days. If you look at the sidebands of HD, you'll see that they sit squarely in the bottom 1/2 of 103.9's occupied bandwidth. We have a similar situation here in the Bay Area. Whenever KSAN (107.7 - The Bone) loses their HD transmitter, we're treated to good reception of KPIG on 107.5.

Of course, in both cases we're listening to these stations well outside of their protected interference contours, so the interference doesn't count.
