104.7 WFSH-FM Honored with Five GABBY Awards from Georgia Association of Broadcasters

ATLANTA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 13, 2005--104.7 The Fish(R) WFSH-FM, was honored by the Georgia Association of Broadcasters at the 2005 GABBY Awards by taking top honors in the large radio-market AAA category. 104.7 The Fish, Atlanta, which plays contemporary Christian music, was named Station of the Year in the major market for the third time in the past four years, while the morning team of Kevin Avery and Taylor Scott (Kevin & Taylor in the Morning) won Best Radio Program and PM Drive host Dan Ratcliffe won Best On-Air Personality. The station was also awarded the Community Service Award and Best Produced Commercial. In all, the station swept the GABBY Awards with honors in five of the 11 categories.

Mike Moran, manager of the Salem Communications Atlanta cluster, noted that these awards underscore the positive impact of the format as well as the dedication of the Salem Communications staff.

104.7 WFSH-FM is owned and operated by Salem Communications Corporation (NASDAQ:SALM), headquartered in Camarillo, Calif., the leading U.S. radio broadcaster focused on Christian and family-themed programming. Upon the close of all announced transactions, the company will own 105 radio stations, including 67 stations in 24 of the top 25 markets. This was already discussed right after the actual awards were issued. I do not know why Salem waited until today for the actual press release. If I recall 750 WSB, 104.1 WALR and 104.7 WFSH won all the major market awards. Considering that Atlanta is the major market in the state it was only our markets stations competiting in these categories.

They already picked up top honors with the GAB and the Gospel Music association in 2002.

News/Talk 750 picked up station of the year in 2004 and along with WALR was the only local station winners. <P ID="edit"><FONT class="small">Edited by RickRose on 06/13/05 03:45 PM.</FONT></P>

Where is V-103 admid the awards? I would say they are the most involved in community outreach and connecting so well with the Vibe Fest and other past events.<P ID="signature">______________
