104.9 WRBF in North Georgia is now on the air and stunting!

106.5 WSKZ Chattanooga (Citadel owned BTW) is very hard on WYAY's signal now that 106.7 is on the Fish Stick. I have always wondered why Citadel did not "down grade" this signal in a non PPM market to help 106.7 in the North and even Western part of the #7 market.
I wonder if we'll start to see some of this as Cumulus fine-tunes signal coverage areas for their respective markets. Is WSKZ a legacy ABC station?

WSKZ is a 100k full class C. I wonder if Cumulus could move WSKZ towards Huntsville or maybe Knoxville to give WYAY some breathing room and possibly an upgrade while WSKZ picks up some out-of-market listenership.

Sorry, Engineer Dude, your signal is "no show" in Roswell at the River. The Fish swallow it.

IIRC WSKZ use to be the FM sister for WGOW. I think Ted Turner put it on as WYNQ (automated BM) when he was owning radio stations. The tower is on Signal Mountian along with the old analog TV towers. 106.5 use to occasionaly "bleed" onto the fire departments radios when you first keyed the mic. in the mid 1970's. I think Turner sold WGOW and WYNQ to the heirs of a famous Illinois Senator.(Stevenson I think). I welcome anybody who knows the rest or can correct this. I wish I had written this stuff down. Citadel had $$ problems and I do not recall them ever doing much to their stations' facilities. WSKZ did not have RDS or HD last time I checked.
