105.3 is a stronger signal, but according to Radio-Locator, their main contour ends at Sandy Springs - they boom in to the Alabama border and the SW part of the market, but not to the north or northeast/east. I'm not extremely familiar with the signals' strength in areas, and R-L could be wrong, but it appears 105.7 is actually better, as it covers the market better, overall.jabba17 said:Re: 105.7 vs. 105.3, 105.3 covers more geography but you could easily argue that 105.7 covers more demo or money.

With 105.3 you give up the northeastern and eastern suburbs (Gwinnett and points north and east). With 105.7 you give up the entire southside and, depending on who you talk to, a large portion of intown.carolinaradio said:105.3 is a stronger signal, but according to Radio-Locator, their main contour ends at Sandy Springs - they boom in to the Alabama border and the SW part of the market, but not to the north or northeast/east. I don't understand why they would blow up 94.9 over 96.1. 12+, 94.9 is outperforming 96.1 by a point. And by the looks of things CC doesn't seem ready to give up on The Bull yet.
I'd like to see how they could do that...WWVA-FM is pretty hemmed in. Don't forget you have nearby second-adjacents in WNGC (106.1) and WBZY (105.3).RadioFreak69 said:One thing noone has mentioned is maybe this might be just a 105.7 signal upgrade rather than a frequency move. ???
I agree, Patron to a 100k, intown, class C-something isn't going to happen.carolinaradio said:Interesting comparisons about the 105.3 and 105.7 signals, jabba17. I didn't know all of that. thanks.
I wonder how a 105.7/96.7 simul would work, since 96 is a SE station.
If they were upgrading the signal, they would have filed with the FCC long ago.
I don't think they would put Viva on 96.1...Viva isn't even in existance anymore. Do you mean El Patron? That doesn't seem likely...
If it is in fact one of those two, I hope The Groove stays on 105.7 and simulcasts on 96.7 so I'll still get clear reception here in East Cobb. 105.3 comes in with static.RoddyFreeman said:I have to agree with Tibbs. They won't flip 94.9 for the reasons stated above, and if they flipped 96.1, it would have to be for a mass format like CHR. I doubt they'll put WGST on an FM; it would be too little too late.
My guess is a simulcast of The Groove on 96.7 or possibly a swap with 105.3.
Of course, I could be wrong, but it would be the first time.

Yes, particularly on the west/northwest side.secondchoice said:Is there too much signal overlap for the Grove to take 105.3 too?
RadioFreak69 said:105.7 just aired a "We Love The '90s Weekend" promo that starts tomorrow at noon. Still nothing about a simulcast or frequency move.
