105.7 THE GROOVE SOUNDING MORE LIKE CHR LATELY?? (AND HEY...NEW POST)!

Was listening a little bit this week. Had it on for about 30 minutes or so, and almost all currents/re-current hits. Every now and then, they would play like, Madonna "Open Your Heart"...but then, right back into, IYAZ "Replay", Black Eyed Peas "Imma Be" and even Ke$ha/3OH3!, "Blah Blah Blah"??
....hhhmmm. Much more listenable than weeks prior when ABBA's "Dancing Queen" would play next to Barry White's "My Everything".

I just wish that they would go 100% head to head against Q100 and be a true Rhythmic leaning CHR (clear channel style)! Like Q102 in Philadelphia or Z100 in New York. I mean they already have Elvis Duran in the morning. So, throw in some Ludacris, Lady GaGa, Eminem, LMFAO, JAY-Z, Tiao Cruz, then, sprinkle lightly with some, Owl City, Train and Taylor Swift, give it a good stir....AND SERVE HOT! (Totally go up against Star-94, The Beat, AND Q100)! ;)

Any thoughts?

Thus music is all over the place. Honestly, I only listen when Hot, V or The Beat is playing something I don't want to hear.

I have noticed the CHANGE too. That all over the map format wasn't working for them or taking them anywhere. This new sound may be a tad better, but it's not doing anything for me either. I also only
Groove to them when there is nothing on any other station (usually but not always B98.5, 106.7).

Something is also going on at B98. They seem to have taken on a more Rockish sound and that's turning
me away from them also.

I noticed that the "Retro Groove Injections" are gone. Pacey, the night guy, has also left the building as well.

It seems like the older songs come back...then disappear...then come back...then disappear again.

The Groove won't be around much longer. Maybe the "Peach" will find a home on 105.7, since the liners are already recorded.

I was enjoying listening to 105.7 at first, haven't listened lately....but a check online shows "Already Gone" by Kelly Clarkson, "This Love" by Maroon 5, "You Belong With Me" by Taylor Swift, and a lot of other current rhythmic hits...however also playing are songs by Madonna and Michael Jackson. It was great at first but has become a mess. Maybe they are trying to transition to a rhythmic leaning CHR?

Groove just put an ad out for a new night guy/apd/md/internet content guru, and you gotta LOVE doing LOTS of appearances.

DAMN that's an intimidating list of responsibilities. Better not apply for that one. ;-)

I really like this station when it started. Finally somebody breaking the mold and playing something DIFFERENT! Not that it was my favorite music, but at least it was VARIETY and they seemed to be playing a lot of music that didn't get as much airplay in the day or that nobody else plays.

But now it seems like they've pared back to just playing a hodge podge of what all the other Top 40, A/C and Urban stations are playing. The point being that now they sound pretty much sound like a sampling of every other crappy station in Atlanta.

You hit the nail on the head....

For the last several hours, save for a few songs, this station looks straight Rhythmic CHR. That is probably the direction they will eventually wind up in.
