106.5 Kiss FM. Huntsville's Hit Music Now

I finally got the chance to check out how well the signal sounds in Athens and Decatur today. To my surprise, it was recieved very well. There were a few very minor static spots that I hit but it remained very listenable through all of Athens and Decatur city areas that I went too. I thought I'd have a lot of issues but I didn't at all. This was in the car of course. I'm sure it may be a different story in buildings. I'm glad to hear that it gets out pretty well in other areas of the market. As far as the signal in Madison County, there are several issue spots, but none that are a big surprise. Anything over Monte Sano Mtn eastward has issues. Gurley, Brownsboro, New Market, Owens Cross Roads, & New Hope. Some of those places you can get it but with some static, and some of them you lose it. Jones Valley is a bad spot, and Hazel Green is terrible too. Everywhere else it seems to be ok though. I wonder if CC plans on doing any billboard or TV advertising for the station? Musically, still sounding good. Much better than ZYP. But, heavy rotations are REALLY tight. Sometimes less than an hour separation. That's too close. I'm hearing LOTS of talk and likes from people around town and thats good to hear, but the one complaint I hear from everyone over and over is certain songs play too much. I guess we won't really hear hows its going to sound on a permanent basis until commerial free time is over and jocks/shows are added. Anyway, keep it going guys!

the W293AH translator has always had a good signal, I've known of it to be heard as far south as Warrior (exit 280 on 65). Hazel green is where WSKZ from Chattanooga used to begin to come in like local before the translator signed on, so that's likely the source of that problem. Here in Toney it's decent, but easily nulled out for WSKZ with a direcional antenna. I've even had it sounding good over in Rogersville out on the river.
