107.7 WFXX Georgiana sold to the Wolff family

I saw the sale of WFXX from Haynes Broadcasting to Jeremy and Sarah Wolff's Fox Broadcasting was in the trades, selling for $600,000. Seems like an awful lot of money for what's essentially a small town station. Andalusia, Evergreen and Brewton are in the main coverage area. Even stranger is the report that a previous deal to Star Broadcasting fell through, it was going to be for over $900,000. Must be good money in radio in that part of the state!

Of interest is that name Wolff. Apparently Jeremy Wolff is the son of the Pete Wolff, of Wolff Broadcasting in Evergreen. He owns "Power Pig" 101.1 WPGG, a car dealership and he's the mayor of Evergreen.

Gotta love small town radio. ;)
