That, everyone, is my example of REAL Kiss music! There should be AT LEAST one over the air radio station in metro Boston among the combined din of 10 all-rock stations (just as in the Electoral College, anything over 50.1% of one side counts as 100%) plus the combined putrid ratings of 6 of the contemporary rock stations (AAFs, BCN, BMX, FNX, XRV and - to a lesser extent - BOS) to make this happen IMHO!

Have a great weekend! ;D

How did "All this love"/ Debarge, not make the list. I can hear Sonny joe intro'ing it now. Or "Self Control" and "Maniac" from the "Flashdance" summer '83. Real Kiss.

Oops - my bad!

BTW, Gloria before Self Control (both the late Laura Branigan). I'd rank Gloria 25, What A Feeling (Irene Cara) about 36, and knock off Must Be The Music and the Lisa-Lisa song (but keep Starpoint - that song is beyond awesome).

Steve, although I agree with you that these were all great Kiss songs of the past, you do realize that this is 2009! No terrestrial radio station could make a go of it by playing these songs and others that you may consider REAL Kiss music.

I'm 53 years old and I wouldn’t even listen to a station that played a steady diet of your idea of REAL Kiss music. I want to hear the new stuff and not just the “classic” tracks over and over and over again.

steve, just give it up and let those songs die.

Examples of REAL Kiss Music:

Britney Spears- If U Seek Amy
Flo Rida- Right Round
Lady GaGa- Pokerface
All American Rejects- Gives You Hell

Steve,

This is an awesome list of songs and a really fun post. I'm sure all of us Kiss fans could probably think of a song or two that's not on your list that would be in our top 108 as well. In fact, I'm going to try to make a playlist for my iPod from your list!

It's just too bad that it's overshadowed by all your inane posts applying very narrow-minded and flawed thinking to current radio formats and totally mis-classifying certain songs, artists and radio stations. There are many of us that miss the old days of Kiss 108 with Sunny Joe White and the music they played back then. But as another poster noted, this is 2009 and the world is constantly changing and all forms of media are constantly updating to stay with the times. If you could focus your posts on your fondness of the old days of Kiss 108 in a positive manner without trashing and making false comments about everything that came after or about anything different, people would have a lot more respect for you and your posts would be as interesting and fun as this one is.

Thanks for this post and the list of awesome songs!

You know what I especially miss from the old school Kiss days that stopped about 3-4 years ago? On Saturday afternoon after Billy Costa's Top 30 Countdown, the very first song of the noon hour would be Rose Royce "Wishin' on a Star" -- I was sorry to hear that tradition end a few years ago. Real shame...I thought it added a nice touch and made the weekend shifts at Kiss that much more important.

Steve, If you programmed KISS would you drop their current playlist and replace them with those old songs they played back in the day? Keep in mind they are rated #1 right now! Or are those just songs you like?
