Bull Shoals Lake area, just south of Ark/Mo border...

Home listening impossible, due to two big power lines within 50 feet of my house. And not much doing 1100-1300 during daytime on the stock radio in my '93 Chevvy Beretta. (I've already listed on another post, all the Band-X goodies I've gotten as early as the lunch hour, in both clear and cloudy weather.) But this past Saturday, driving from the lake toward HarrisonAR betwen 11:45 and 12:15, during a period of intermittent heavy thunderstorms, I happened onto 1200 WOAI/San Antonio. Sig was initially very strong (only reason I even noticed it, having volume way down because of annoying QRN), then gradually faded down into the static level. Only time I've noticed any mid-dial DX here at all.

1120 nothing usually, KMOX St. Louis around sunrise/sunset

1160 WYLL Chicago occasionally
1170 nothing -- used to hear KJOC Davenport, IA (long story)
1180 nada
1190 ditto
1200 "
1210 nothing
1220 KQMG Independence, IA
1230 lovely mix of WFXN Moline, IL and KFJB Marshalltown, IA
1240 KBIZ Ottumwa, IA
1250 nothing -- or KDNZ Cedar Falls, IA faintly
1260 nothing
1270 WKBF Rock Island, IL
1280 KCOB Newton, IA
1290 nothing
1300 KGLO Mason City, IA faintly

I was in South Carolina for a vacation this past week, I was in the Isle of Palms and for some reason with my grundig 350 I had trouble picking up AM stations in the hotel room, even if I was by the window with the fan off. I did pick up WCBS, WFAN, WOR, WABC, WINS and a lot of NorthEast Am's at night, but the FM's were coming in real good! I recieved WJRR in Orlando Fl and other stations ranging from Myrtle Beach to Orlando

From Poughkeepsie, NY, about 70 miles North of New York City.

1100 - WHLI Hempstead, LI, NY.
1110 - WTBQ Warwick, NY o/ WUPE Pittsfield, MA.
1120 - WPRX Bristol, CT (Spanish)
1130 - WBBR New York City
1140 - --nothing--
1150 - WMRD Middletown, CT
1160 - WABY Mechanicville, NY o/ WVNJ Oakland, NJ
1170 - WWLE Cornwall, NY
1180 - Weak mix of WHAM and unID, both might have been early afternoon skywave (2:30pm)
1190 - WLIB New York City
1200 - WKOX Framingham, MA (very weak Spanish, I think it's WKOX)
1210 - WPHT Philadelphia, PA (quite weak)
1220 - WGNY Newburgh, NY
1230 - WFAS White Plains, NY o/ WHUC Hudson, NY
1240 - WWCO Waterbury, Ct o/jumble
1250 - WMTR Morristown, NJ
1260 - WBNR Beacon, NY
1270 - WDLA Walton, NY
1280 - WADO New York City (Spanish)
1290 - WNBF Binghamton, NY (quite weak)
1300 - WRCR Spring Valley, NY o/WGDJ Rensselaer, NY

All were on Radio Shack "TRF" AM portable radio, except 1150 & 1160 which were on car radio in driveway, as I have terrible electronic noise in the house 1140 - 1160. Also 1180 and 1200 were a bit better in the car, away from the noise.

No real local in this part of the dial... WGNY-1220 and WBNR-1260 are the besrt signals, but still only around 2 mv/m in this area (not city grade).

About the only AM station I listen to regularly is WBBR-1130, and while they're clear during the day, and quite good at night, they really get clobbered by WDFN-1130 Detroit during drive-time in the winter, when WDFN is on day pattern. Is WDFN a pest anywhere else?

At my QTH Northwest of Chicago, WDFN sometimes mixes with semi-local WISN when both are on daytime patterns near sunrise or sunset. Bigger pest for WISN here during those times of day is KWKH. At night, all of these are pretty much absent. Even though I'm only about 35 miles from WISN's stick, they go to a really severe 10kw nighttime pattern. WDFN is nowhere to be found, and KWKH's signal is paltry at best.

From Grenada, Mississippi. This is with a VW stock radio, underground power lines and engine off.

1110 - WKRA - Holly Springs, MS (cloudy days only)
1120 - WTWZ - Clinton/Jackson, MS (cloudy days only)
1140 - WSAO - Senatobia, MS (cloudy days only)
1180 - WJNT - Pearl/Jackson, MS (weak)
1240 - WGRM - Greenwood, MS (weak)
1260 - WGVM - Greenville, MS (cloudy days only)
1290 - WJBI - Batesville, MS (v. weak)
