I always felt the right format for KLOK was broadcasting USNO 24/7. That way they could say "All time....all the time." Just kidding.

I remember KLOK from the 70's -80's ,they weren't great but decent in most of what they did, my opinion. I recall in the early 70's I think the guy on in the morning was Buddy Hatton ,he'd ID three stations during his show ,he was on KWIZ Santa Ana ,KLOK San Jose and another one up in Seattle with his morning show. His show was pretty good.
What I didn't like about KLOK is the music overall ,it was never RnR ,never anything. I don't know what you'd call the format ,a mix of RnR / AOR I remember ?
I went to the studios / transmitter once around 1972 , I got a tour.

My understanding from a couple of friends who worked at KLOK was that Bill Weaver, who owned it and KWIZ, programmed to his own tastes and whims. More often than not, it produced okay results, everyone got paid and was treated well.
