1210 WPHT-AM to air the ESPN Radio broadcasts of 2007 World Series

Correction: Airtime is at 8 PM. It will be that time for all 7 games. Sorry for the error.

This must be wanderlust for Julius.

ESPN on 1210 and both at the same time! Amazin'!

Does anyone really care, except for maybe a few front-runner Red Sox fans, who obviously HATE all Philly teams anyway, and maybe a few Phillies fans who want to see the team that ended our playoff hopes get blasted like they did last night? It's going to be a ratings disaster for Fox. What makes you think this will be a boon for PHT?

I did not watch (nor did I listen to the game on the radio Julius, it is much better to SEE the action), but Rob, you are right, I did get some satisfaction from last night's pounding!

I doubt that PHT will have a significant spike in listeners for this series at all.

I'm sure the folks on the National TV board would pity you, as clearly they would rather turn down Tim McCarver and hear the raido feed.

Not necessarily. Baseball is the best "radio sport" I've ever encountered. When listening to a baseball game on the radio, little if anything is missed. I heard the Phillies clinch the NL East that Sunday afternoon on radio, and never for a moment felt I was missing a single thing by not having seen it on television. In fact, for me, seeing baseball on TV makes me feel as though I'm missing a radio call (which can oftentimes be much better)...

P.S. -- I did, however, feel like I was missing something listening to that Sunday afternoon clinching game as I had full understanding I was hearing the action nine seconds later than most of the Delaware Valley thanks to one of the many shortcomings of IBOC on AM...

But that's not the fault of aural media in general...

I actually listened to part of the pregame for game 2 last night. As Jon Sciambi introduced Jon Miller and Joe Morgan a bit of a blunder took place. Jon Miller signed on by saying "San Francisco Giants Baseball". He does radio for the Giants, of course, during the regular season in addition to his ESPN TV duties, but still kind of funny to see a top broadcaster like Miller off of his game a little. Maybe all those runs in game 1 had ill effect on him.
