1400 AM KGVL Greenville to flip to ESPN Radio in after Christmas.

a announcement was made today that will see the Hunt County based radio station based out of Greenville 1400 AM KGVL flip from "Soft Oldies" to sports talk as the new home of ESPN Radio for the Northeastern parts of North Texas (not covering all of North Texas) after KESN 103.3 flipped from ESPN Radio to Christian Radio KVDT after Disney sold it to VCY America last year.

it means that Hunt County will have the ESPN Radio lineup that previously was broadcast on 103.3 (a station that started out as a Hunt County station based out of Commerce as KEMM originally at 92.1 and later at 103.3 before Disney bought it in 2000 and then moved it's broadcast tower to Allen) as well as the ESPN Radio broadcast of big sports events.

it's most likely the Commerce based translator K290AP at 105.9 will also be airing the ESPN Radio coverage too. this leaves it's E Radio Network sister station KIKT as the only radio station to be based out of Hunt County to have music that is a commercial radio station, as KETR is a NPR affiliate owned by Texas A&M Commerce.
