1440 AM Greenville was ESPN now Fox Sports

I don't know about the Fox Sports South games, but I actually listened to FSR for a little while today and what I heard is pretty bad. ESPN IS much better, as is the new CBS format.
I haven't heard CBS Sports Radio but I listened to Fox Sports for a short time on the way home from the store and it was horrific.

They tried that and failed (hence why CC went to ESPN after the LMA ended).

I think ESPN and CBS Sports are going to be the big sports talk players now. Both are clearly the best. I don't know about the upcoming NBC Sports Radio or Y!SR. Yahoo! is a so-so product, from what I heard when it was on 910 it was better than Fox IMO. I don't know how NBC Sports Radio is going to get anywhere with so many sports talk networks around.

If it weren't for CC having the stations to put it on, I don't think Fox Sports Radio would still be around.

agree with you carradio no one wants to pay for espn rights and try to make a living.
You are probably right and it says something about the state of the radio business, or at least the AM radio business, that the only acceptable programming cost is zero.

910 in spartanburg is playing the greatest hits on earth so they can have a translator that only spartanburg can hear and promoting an app to get listeners. i can see how it would be difficult for 1440 to survive carrying espn

I have no issue with Clear Channel dropping ESPN if they want cash and there isn't enough revenue to justify it, but there will be no benefit to switching to Fox except as a cost saving. If they weren't a factor with ESPN, they won't be a factor with Foxsports.
