1660 WGIT Canóvanas, Puerto Rico heard in Tampa (video)

Congratulations, gar. You must be on a mission to "show me up" while I've been here. Something that wouldn't be all that difficult! (just kidding)

Seriously, this and WSCR are a couple of great catches. Nicely done!

Thanks.

They finally fixed that defective fluorescent outdoor light I mentioned in another thread about interference on AM that was making it nearly impossible to do any AM DXIng at home.

So I've been making up for the lost time this season.

I was able to ID WGIT using their online stream.

I'll have to listen for this one tonight,, maybe I'll even see if I can hear it in the daytime by nulling out the Marco Island station. You never know! I can easily hear the Marco Island station as a weak to good local during the daytime but at 36 miles away, it seems to be right in that "dead zone" during the dark hours. Plus,, even though they are omni 24 hours a day, they power down to 1 KW at night, from the 10 KW they run during the daylight hours. I mostly can't hear the Marco Island station (WCNZ) to speak of after sunset.

Even with WCNZ completely nulled out, there is just nothing there, that is but a LOT of lightning noise. I would have to pick a stormy moment of a stormy day of a stormy time of year here in near tropical Florida to try this out. DUH! Also, It is 1160 miles from here, and even though mostly salt water, it's a long way for a daytime trip, so this one may be best left to the night time hours, especially in the summertime....
