1951 – 1953 My Uncle Jimmy was on Television during Korean War

Hello,
My name is Bob Smith; I’m a special needs person with mental handicap disabilities.
I live in the city of Chicago born and raised on the south side of the city in the Mayberry Bridgeport area. I was born in 1959.

Many long years ago before I was born. I had heard stories from my grandmother in which she had told the family that back during in 1952 or somewhere along the line, that my mother and two of here sisters who were my two aunts, had written a letter to some television station to get on television to talk to my Uncle Jimmy who was serving in the army over seas in Korea.

My mother and her two sisters were selected to be on a television program in which that would allow them to talk to my Uncle Jimmy who was over seas in Korea.

I do NOT know what channel it was on? Or the Title of the television program it was called?
Not even DO NOT know the exact date it was aired on television? (Because I wasn’t even born yet - not until 1959)

I’ve called my cousin Jimmy, who is my Uncle Jimmy’s son, asked him about it. He told me that the copy of the show had gotten lost or even had gotten deteriorated over the year, due to it was filmed on celluloid tape.

If anyone else on this message who may remember seeing a show like that from long time ago, or whoever may have family or relative that was involved with the Korean war, or even being interviewed on television around between 1951 thru 1953, I just wanted to know the name title of the program and the TV station or channel it was on at that time?

Thank you very much for your help and support
For who might remember these types of media events

Thank you
Bob
