Typical national fare. A lot of talk about where the hosts came from, introductions and so on. A few things that became glaringly apparent in my day of on and off again listening:

First off, the legal ID won't fly. ID as stated on 650 at every check was "KIKK, KKHH-HD3, Pasadena-Houston. CBS Sports Radio 650". KKHH nor its HD-3 are licensed to Pasadena and should not be in the middle of the correct ID of KIKK-Pasadena. We all know how it is supposed to be presented and so should the folks @ CBS radio who recorded it.

Second, the sign off was brutal. Just after the spot where the station promotes being 24 hours a day 7 days a week of non stop sports, they went off the air. How long before CBS sends word down to Houston that the sports network needs to be moved to 610 or an FM? I just don't see how they could leave it on a 250 watt daytimer in this big of a market.

Finally, the positive thing about KIKK's new programming is that it sounded great. Everything I heard was flawless. Good presentation, no dead spots, and everything flowed well. It seemed as if it had been on the air for a year, not a day. Overall, a very good start for day 1. Pretty obvious that a lot of time and effort was put forth to get the sports network on the ground and running.

I turned Jim Rome on for about 5 minutes yesterday and realized that I like Adam Clanton's impression of Rome better than Rome himself.

I'm really surprised they put it on 650. Was someone not thinking?

I’m not surprised at all. They own the station already, the format is not strong enought to go onto one of their more powerful sticks, they own the network and the station, might as well let it rip.

KKHH is carrying 650 on the hd3. After the AM sign off it seems programming continues right along on the Hd3. I was still hearing the station IDs and promos for 650
