2 Dothan area signals seek city of license change

In the past few days 93.7 WUSD and 103.9 WJRL have filed to change their city of license. WUSD is currently licensed to Geneva and wants to "move" to Hartford with the current faciliites. WJRL, licensed to Ozark would also "move" to Fort Rucker (the old 100.5 COL) with the current facilities.

It is possible that signal changes could be applied for if the change in the the city license is approved.

Ah, come on radio station owners. Leave good ol' Ozark and Fort Rucker alone. I'm sure the area hasn't been the same since 100.5 left Fort Rucker and changed formats from "good old oldies and other good music." As for Geneva, they don't care, move 93.7 to Ariton.... Ariton needs a first local service, plus Jack Jones' slaughter house needs a station to advertise on. If Ariton doesn't fit, try New Brockton, at least move it to a city I've heard of.

I forgot a lot of towns in SE Alabama. I've been royally screwed by every businessman I've ever dealt with there. I've really lost over 90% of the assets I've taken into the area. The last guy that took me wanted to get an attorney to write up our business agreement. I put on my "dumb ass" hat on and told him that I didn't want to pay an attorney a dime for a worthless document that no jury in the Ozark area would hold us to... so I proceeded to extend my hand and shake his. That first 25k turned into 5k and a refusal to take phone calls or sign for certified mail, all in less than 6 months. Honestly, I got off easy on that one, if we had an official signed agreement on paper I would have lost five times as much. That "gentleman" was a county commissioner, bank president, farmer, and chairman of the board of directors of "a" golf club, not to mention that his family owned everything else in town.
Once I was even screwed by Dale County when they wanted to built a government building on land I owned. In the end, I think I walked away with 750$ for the land. I don't understand that area. I can make money in SW Georgia and North West Florida and SW Alabama without trying, but Dothan is a financial black hole.

Back on topic, the town that needs a radio station the most is Onycha, although Rocky Head could use a 100kw FM.

Don't Forget Madrid, Cowarts, Midland City, and Cottonwood. Or, if you want to relocate across the state line, there's Cottondale, Malone, Campbellton. ;D

No, if you have the opportunity to choose a nearby Florida community of license, the only reasonable choice is Two Egg!

It's really hard to believe that no station has been allocated to Midland City or Cottondale yet.

And an obvious one, if any Panama City FM flips to Spanish, it better be 99.3 from Mexico Beach.
