2007/2008 Market Ranks: Binghamton up, others lose, others stay the same

Binghamton actually saw a slight increase and moved up in rank. Buffalo, Plattsburgh, Syracuse, and Watertown all went down in rank. NYC, Albany, Rochester, Utica, and Elmira stayed the same.

I feel like I'm missing one other market here though...

Dustin,

I had a little problem getting info off that link. As a favor, can you check and see what market ranking NEW ORLEANS now has ??
There was a lot of speculation about how far it might fall after so many people had to move away after hurricane you-know-who two years ago,..and I'm just curious to see how far it might have fallen.

Thanks!

Hi Kohoutek,

New Orleans as it stands is at #53, actually up one from last year at #54. Looking back at some data I had saved from my mass comm classes New Orleans was at #43 in 2005, and post Katrina it fell eleven ranks, loosing 115,000+ TV homes, but for the upcoming 2007-08 it has gained 34,000 TV homes back.

I don't know if will gain any more viewers back, they only way it might move up in rank from this point is if Buffalo keeps on slipping.

Anyone know where I can find rankings for television stations in the DC (Hagerstown) market (without a nielsen subscription)? I was curious as to which station is #1, #2 etc.

In many cities, the local newspaper usually does an article about TV ratings. Might be hard to find... usually, they're buried in the entertainment section. Some papers don't even bother, usually in smaller areas where they don't have anyone knowledgeable enough to decipher the ratings.
