New York Times unlocked article about Guy Goma's unplanned appearance on the BBC
This just dropped at the New York Times a few hours ago. It's a sweet little article about an embarrassing mix-up at the Beeb's 24 hour news channel, 20 years ago, when a producer grabbed a man out of their lobby, rushed him into their live-on-air studio and threw him on live TV, unprepared. (He had been there for a job interview in the I.T. department, completely unrelated to the subject matter expert they were expecting to do said interview, and who they mistook him for.) He actually came through the experience with surprising poise.
The article is a gift link, unlocked, and contains a short video showing some of the actual aircheck of the incident. Enjoy!
