20th century holiday movies on tv

Unbelievable, I don't see the 1984 'A Christmas Carol.' Even though it was made for CBS, I think that one with George C. Scott was one of the best versions of the movie, maybe THE best.
 
I may be wrong, but I can't remember when a cable network has run the same movie about 10 times in a row. Thus, is what Sundance is doing with "White Christmas" this year. Don't get me wrong, it is a very fun movie and is set around a Christmas theme, but 10 times in a row? Not sure I get that. The title song "White Christmas" is not the original Bing recording, but a redo for this movie specifically with Rosemary Clooney, aunt of George Clooney. While the movie has a Christmas theme, it is more of a comedic/dramatic musical than anything else. First movie using "VistaVision". It does look good visually to this day!
 
A Christmas Story has been shown in marathon mode on TBS (and/or TNT) for several years now. It may have started in the '00s?
We're not getting any 'syndicated' holiday movies this Xmas Eve or Xmas Day, but some stations around the country are showing 'The Story of the First Noel', narrated by the late Roger Moore. We get the Liturgical, Happy Holidays America, P.J. Rasmussen's An American Christmas, etc. replacing morning news. Syndicated Christmas cartoons are still shown on a few network affiliates (The Stableboy's Christmas, Red Boots for Christmas, etc.) but they are rarer every year. KIRO used to air 'Red Boots' every Christmas.

Thanks for the info. I discovered that Scrooged was on Encore Saturday morning at about the last 30 minutes. My cable lineup doesn't include Encore, but I was able to get what was left through the Spectrum app on Roku. I pulled out my DVD and watched it later over the weekend. I saw it listed for tonight but still didn't know about the marathon.

I mentioned earlier that there was a year when Christmas Vacation was shown in a 24 hour marathon on AMC. I think there was also a year the same thing was done on AMC with Scrooged. Thanks again!

I also noticed that A Christmas Story is being staggered for the start times starting on odd numbered hours on TBS and even numbered hours on TNT. I think this is a good idea so it will be easier to find favorite parts.
