250th Episode of Jill on Money

While some stations have shows where you only hear crickets, the 250th episode of Jill on Money aired today on the Voice of Buffalo, WBEN.

Good show as always. Not sure that she, a CBS news analyst, is a republican though. That's got to be depressing for people on this forum.

I listen to WBEN and am not depressed, but I also don't know who Jill on Money is. How did those 250 shows slip past me?

The show airs every Saturday from 4-6pm. Have all 250 been on WBEN? I have no idea. I don't know if they carried her from week one or not.

She is also on the WBEN Liveline for an interview at 6:50am every Monday.

Well, you think that all they play are right wing shows, so the majority of what is played on WBEN slips past you.

Are you purposely being obtuse?

The overwhelming majority of their M-F schedule is wingnut blather.

The fact that they have the typical, often brokered, specialty shows on the weekend is irrelevant.

9 hours of right wing political talk out of a 24 hour day is hardly a majority. Nice try.

9?

Can't you count?

Try 9A-1A.

That's 16 hours last I checked. You can also easily count that overnight show, since they definitely hit on some right wing conspiracy nonsense.

Realistically, the only part of the day that isn't (overtly) right wing, is 5-9A. That's only FOUR hours a day.

WBEN needs to hire someone a bit more astute to spin on these boards, because the current guy ain't gettin' it done!

I'm going to correct the incorrect information on here. And I'll keep replying to every false statement you make.

The only right wing shows are from 12p-3p, and 7p-1a.

The others that fall in your time frame are not political shows, as I've said before, it is a news talk station and will discuss what is in the news, or whatever they feel like.

I don't consider a show on someone selling 29 horses political, I don't consider a 4 hour show on Star Wars political, and I don't consider Beach's pro-abortion stance in any way, shape, or form, "right wing."

I'm not counting the overnight show either. I don't listen to it, and when I've heard it, they've discussed things that aren't political. It may be conspiracy. It may be nonsense. But it's not right wing by any means. If anything, I'll count that as a show as one for the far left, along with the Sunday "news" show.

Google some hobbies for you.

Considering you are clearly a neophyte, I couldn't care less what YOUR criteria is, especially since your only goal here is to pimp WBEN.

The programmers of this format throughout the industry would label those shows as I have done, mainly because when push comes to shove, that's what they ARE.

WHY were they talking about "29 horses"? What was the point of view of the discussion about those 29 horses?

Walk down the hall and ask Beach or Bauerle if they're conservative, and represent a conservative point of view. Ask if that point of view informs their discussion of current events on their radio show. It's rare that there isn't a political bent to their discussion of topics on their shows.

Yeah, yeah, you're "just a listener", and not shilling for WBEN because you work in the building. That smells like the effluent of those 29 horses.

The point of view was the 29 horses receiving a new owner by Christmas appears to be more important than a father missing another Christmas with his daughter. Even if the horses are free, the daughter still hasn't seen her father after 11 years.

What's your point? Are you part of Horses Lives Matter? I don't think the host wasn't glad that the horses are free from the nutcase, I just think he cares more about the kid than the horses.

Is this Radio Discussion? That's not my goal, just happens to be one of a select few tolerable stations to listen to. I'm going to discuss radio. Some stations are good, and most aren't.

That's NOT what they are, and I'm going to keep saying it. Maybe no one else would correct this misinformation, but that's not going to get by anymore without me correcting it.

Right now they are tracking Santa Claus and talking about Christmas stories. You can't call it right wing talk and get away with it. When push comes to shove, that's NOT what it is.

They are CLEARLY right wing hosts. All because they depart from politics occasionally doesn't mean they're suddenly a different animal. You either haven't listened to them for very long or you're incredibly naive.

I can't speak for Beach, but Bauerle has stated on the air that he isn't a republican or conservative. That's irrelevant. I'm not talking about the hosts as much as I am the programming. That's NOT what they are, and I'm going to just keep on correcting it. Nice try.

Oh, so the political views of the hosts don't have anything to do with talk programming.

Got it. Thanks.

PS - Bauerle may not be Republican or Conservative in party, but his views certainly lean that way.

The hosts ARE the programming! Holy cow.

Many hosts try to come off as being non-partisan, but the proof is in the pudding. Tell us, by all means, on which issues does Bauerle take a liberal position?

I don't know what kind of talk station you envision as being "correctly" labeled "conservative", but judging by your criteria, I don't believe there are ANY in the country!

You must mean All Things Considered?

Tell us, by all means, on which issues does Bauerle take a liberal position?

Do you have to take a position to talk about the news of the day?

To answer your question, several of them.
