30 minutes of nonstop FM News every hour

I heard a promo on FM News 101.9 saying that they will do 3 10 minute commercial-free news segments per hour. That's taking a jab at 880 and 1010 which frequently have 1 minute commercial breaks. So I thought that meant they're going to a hard news format. Nope, it's still the same news with a lot of fluff format. WCBS and WINS have nothing to worry about. Even WBAI which reports everything with a hard liberal bias, and WFME which only reports when the world will end, have nothing to worry about losing their listeners to FM News 101.9. All the out-of-market stations that beat WEMP are also safe.

So the real question is, is this really a jab / bold move?? Or the forced nature of having little advertising....

CBS can't buy any more FM stations now that they've purchased WLNY-55

Will WLNY be more like what KCAL9 is in LA? and there will be CBS2 News on WLNY? Does this mean that WCBS 2 can pre-empt CBS Shows when the NY Giants are playing on Monday Night Football.
Look KPIX a CBS O&O in San Francisco does pre-empt CBS TV shows when either the Oakland Raiders or 49ers are playing on Monday Night football and the CBS shows go to KBCW44 The other CBS station in SF.
Or will it be like KCAL9 where the LA Lakers, LA Dodgers and LA Angels play on 9 so KCBS2 does not have to pre-empt shows.

If there's going to be a deal involving more than two parties, ESPN should be involved. If anyone, they are as serious as having a presence on FM as CBS.

Even if CBS were to pull off the blockbuster deal Nick lays out in the previous post, wouldn't CBS still be over a limit with five FM's, now that they are in possession of two TV stations?

What if CBS trades 880 and 1010 with Family and Pacifica to move WCBS and WINS to 94.7 and 99.5

But look CBS have to hand over WFAN, and WINS to Cumulus or Entercom if they really want WINS and WCBS to go on FM.
