34 More Minutes of Mornings with Matt & Bob powered by Chuy on KLBJ-FM

Three months ago (03/22/2024) I posted this:

Mornings with Matt & Bob powered by Chuy on KLBJ-FM that usually runs from 6:00 AM to 10:00 AM just announced that they will now go 6 minutes longer each day.

* * * * *

I think it was last week (I don’t remember the exact day) they said they were “going long” that day. I think they have been “going long” every day since that day. Today, they said they are now going to 10:40 AM so I think the new added time (10:40 – 10:06 = 34 minutes) for their show is now permanent.

Matt Bearden is also no longer co-hosting the CJ Morgan Show in afternoons on 101X. Many other Rock morning shows followed the lead of Howard Stern in the 90s/2000s and go well into the 10am or even 11am hour such as Elliott in the Morning at DC101 Washington. The thought is that it helps build listenership into the midday daypart to bump up their midday ratings.

What additional content are they doing for the 34 minutes, or does it include an additional stop set?
I have not noticed any difference between the additional time and the rest of the show.

I wasn't looking for any difference so there might be a difference that someone else might notice but I did not notice any difference.

During their show they talk, take calls, read interesting articles, play music, do some interviews and promotions, and have commercials. With that mix of things that they do I don't think the additional time is any different (that I noticed) from the rest of the show.
