55KRC now running NBC News / Fox News Radio Gone

Since this new year, Fox News Radio is gone from 55KRC and is replaced with NBC Radio News.
Looks like I-Heart has switched everything to NBC. With all the anti-NBC on 55KRC, I can't imagine how I-Heart conservative talker stations benefit whatsoever with this arrangement on those stations. I remember how WLW went ABC for WKRC to have FOX News Radio, a much better fit for them.
NBC is despised throughout the day on conservative talkers. Many will and have already tuned out at the first mention of NBC News.

This article below about I-Heart/NBC is from last July, 2016..

Really? You know that how?

How about if iHeart's talk hosts like Rush & Hannity say it's OK to listen.

At one time Rush & Hannity were ABC Radio products, and it wasn't unusual to have ABC Radio news during their shows. Somehow, conservatives survived.

Well, I just hate to see a great old signal like WKRC vanish into oblivion, but if the iHeart suits think NBC Radio News or whatever it's called is a good fit for the stations conservative weekday format, then all the best to them. Maybe during the weekends it will be a better fit.

With Glenn Beck still lingering on, and now NBC, I've already switched from WKRC to WSGW 100.5 FM on the Tunein app, which runs Fox News Radio updates. With unlimited data, it really is that simple to change my listening routine. And, whoever runs WSGW board is the best in the business IMHO, very tight. There's actually someone there.

I'll miss 550KHz however. Will still try to still catch Brian Thomas in the mornings. That signal really makes a good push North at night with their 1000 watts. Great dial position.

73. Carry on.

News is news. I dare you to point out a difference between one or the other. The minute NBC uses Megyn or Rachel Madow or Chris Matthews to anchor a newscast, you'll have a point. Until then, there's really no difference between Fox or anyone else except branding.

So what you want is all pro-Trump, all the time. Purge everyone from the airwavs who isn't willing to be the Trump Information Ministry. All this time I thought some of Obama's more aredent fans were cultists.

Stormdesk;6131188 Looks like I-Heart has switched everything to NBC. With all the anti-NBC on 55KRC said:
NBC Radio News is a Premiere Network product, using content from NBC tailored for iHeart who owns Premiere.

I think you exaggerate the effect of using NBC branding. Most people don´t think about it.

Somehow Megyn Kelly is connected to WKRC deal as the article claims except there's no direct connection here. But wait Iheart's move to NBC News Radio is no surprise. Iheart app since July/August 2016 was rebranded from 24/7 News to NBC News Radio its an all news feed made by Iheart itself. Even Associated Press Radio has distribution rights to Iheartradio app and Iheart News/Talk stations like KFBK Sacramento whenever these stations need national content for their drive time newscasts.

It was probably a cost cutting decision since iHeart is bleeding money.

iHeart is not "bleeding money" as the radio group is quite profitable. But the profits can't pay the debt service.

Megyn Kelly has nothing to do with this deal, which was put in place last year as a way of restructuring the way news is delivered to iHeart stations and bringing the actual operations and distribution in-house with iHeart owned Premier.

That's the point I was making its just happens to be that my source made a knee-jerk reaction to the deal for WKRC and Iheart in house deal to NBC News Radio. I knew that was at play here for some time.

Someone forgot to tell the board operator. More often than not, the :30 news bite is Fox News.....lol

Ha - This thread dangerously close to political discussion. All I can say is - News is news?! The whole trend now is AWAY from the canned, predictable (mildest term I can think of) content of those organizations that have been so used to framing the discussion for soooo long.

Ha Ha - this station a mess. Turned on at 10pm - was dead air for what - 10 minutes? Maybe cause it's first day of new month - they are changing the lineup? They ran 2 hours of "Ground Zero". (2 minutes of that is too much for me)

You are not "profitable" if you can't pay your debt service. Take this from a business owner....

The point is that the stations are profitable on an EBITDA basis. The debt came as a result of an LBO, and does not reflect on the fact that the individual stations, with a more reasonable debt structure, are profitable.

I agree someone is not minding the broom closet over in Kenwood. Way too many automation problems. That evening lineup probably won't change much though. It is cheap programming that they can clear for nothing. 2 hours of Clyde Lewis would be better than screeching Mark Levin. Get out those tin foil hats which may help with AM reception at night.

I understand your point, but the truth is: If you don't service your debt, you'll go bankrupt, and that is what they face right now. Look at the price of their bonds.
