55KRC Still Plays Glenn Beck Commercials During the Tony Snow Show!
For the last couple of weeks or so, it seems I hear Glenn Beck reading commercials during Tony Snow breaks. I thought maybe they forgot to delete those ads, but now this week also, Glenn is talking away in his usual style reading a spot. It sounds strange to hear, especially since Glen would normally read his spots live. kinda gives the time slot, a "Tony Snow - Glenn Beck" show feel!

Oh and another thing, why is 55KRC's imaging so boring?!? All those Argosy spots, and those really lame jingles or whatever their called. The weather forecast is the toughest to take as the music bed is often at an equal volume as the actual forecast being read. It's often really tough to understand IMO.

And the way Bobby Leach ends his traffic reports: "Bobby Leach Argosy Casino Traffic 55 KRC We Have You Covered" I think a slight pause between the words Leach and Argosy would really be helpful. It sounds like his name is "Bobby Leach Argosy".

Tony Snow seems like a good fit with the station however IMO.

It's called breaking Glenn Beck's contract. "You don't have to run my show any longer, just play my commercials".

You can blame automation and $6.00 an hour board ops for the annoying, loud music beds. It also happens on the other Cheap Channel stations, even when there is a live host. You're lucky if the taped weather forecast is even for the same day that its airing, but then again, if you can't hear it over the music, who knows what day it's for.

Same goes for BobbyLeachArgosyBelterra55KRC1530Traffic (often taped 30 minutes before airing). He's got to talk fast so he also can tape more traffic reports for Lexington, Lima and Little Rock.

I actually hear Leach offered to legally change his name. He wantd to sell it to Argosy. Kinda like the Goldenpalace Casino does with pregnant women and burnt toast shaped like an aardvark's member.

As far as speed reading the traffic, he's reported that way for 20 years. The mouth still cranks it out, the brain is just having a harder time keeping up.

Bobby Argosy. Has a Vegas feel...or was he planning to change his name to "Argosy Casino Traffic"?

Gotta disagree here. He didn't sound that way on WGRR. Blame that on the amount of stuff heaped on his plate by his overlords.

It's a tragic story; he's never been the same since the one-handed tree limb removal incident. Sat on the wrong side of the limb...sad.

Their what? Their traffic guy? Their corporate music manager? Their IT director? What? Oh, he hasn't been THERE. I get it now. If you had to do all the stuff he does, you wouldn't be there either.

CCU has, by far, the best music library in the radio industry, available to any of their stations within minutes via intranet. Bobby Leach is a big part of that. He needs to be doing traffic reports like he needs a tapeworm (or leeches if you must berate the man further). The quality of those reports ain't on him. That's on his supervisors, who are too stupid or cheap to do the right thing. Got that, TB and DP? Oh, wait, I forgot...you're too busy brown-nosing Pittsburgh butt and slicing more humans out of the budget.

With all due respect Inventor, I'm pretty sure Idiot was funnin' with Bobby. Anyone who's ever worked with him knows he can take as well as dish out the goofing. I can tell you have a lot of admiration for the guy. If you took a poll of most respected local radio folks, I'd bet money his name would come up on nearly all lists.

So that is what caused it. Explains a lot. I thought it was going over the falls in the barrel.....

I think the reason they are playing the commercials from Beck during Snow is because they dropped the program before the contract was up and they have to run them until it is up. As for the imaging package, if you want to kill your radio station keep running the same package and never change it. I listen to them and I like it. Also I am glad that Glenn Beck is gone for good. Good Ridance to Beck.
