6/19 7:00 PM Hearing Detroit MI 105.1 from South Tampa FL

WMGC 105.1 "Detroit Sports 105.1" coming through very strong on 105.1, easily overpowering 105.1 in Orlando you can normally hear trying to make it through, two hours to the Northeast. It's coming in so strong, I was convinced a translator had been sprung up locally and was relaying "Detroit Tigers" related sports programming by accident, but once a promo confirmed the station identity...I was wowed. Just shy of 1200 miles apart when I check Google Maps, but in the car it sounded like I was in the tower's vicinity.

Oh, and this was in a Sentra stock radio in a rental. Come to think of it, the best DX'ing I've had (while in a car) has always been while I've had a rental.

Byron, I got to hear tonight's E Skip event too! I was going to start my own thread but then I saw yours.

I started out hearing a station with a local sounding signal on 102.1 and they said 'Cruise 102.1'.

Then I Googled that name and found it to be from some place called Bad Axe, Michigan.

There were multiple stations on 96.3, 99.1, and 102.9.

This was the kind of E Skip where the signals didn't stay too strong for too long and would fade away for long periods of time.

I got some video.

Here's 'Hot 102.9' from Springfield, Ohio suddenly being taken over by 'W4 Country' from Ann Arbor, Michigan.

Then another station also comes in that I didn't identify. It's the one talking about iheart radio.

Mario, I started hearing it around 7:15 and it was gone within an hour.
