Due to the network's live broadcast of the Primetime Emmy Awards (due to begin at 8 P.M. EDT) tonight (September 18th) and the fact the network had an NFL doubleheader today, CBS' "60 Minutes" did not begin until just past 7:30 P.M. EDT, and will only run until 8 P.M. EDT.
If the Primetime Emmy's air live in the Mountain and Pacific time zones, "60 Minutes" will probably be seen in full after the Emmy ceremonies end (aproximately 8 P.M. PDT/9 P.M. MDT). If the Primetime Emmys are going to air on a tape-delay in the Mountain and Pacific time zones (i.e. 8 P.M. PDT, 7 P.M. MDT), then a full-length edition of "60 Minutes" would run at what is the show's usual time in those regions (7 P.M. PDT/6 P.M. MDT).
Should the Primetime Emmy ceremonies end on-time at 11 P.M. EDT, I wonder if CBS affiliates in the Eastern and Central time zones are going to pressure the network to keep running abbreviated editions of the show on NFL doubleheader weeks as to allow their late local newscasts to begin on-time, since "Cold Case" and the Sunday-night movies would begin on-time at 8 and 9 P.M. ET respectively.
