620 KMZQ Switches from Sports to Salem Talk

Las Vegas had the distinction of being the only market I know carrying all five 24/7 English-language Sports Networks. But it will soon be losing Houston-based SB Nation, formerly Sporting News, formerly One on One. 670 KMZQ will be switching to mostly Salem's Conservative Talk network. For the record, that still leaves...

920 KBAD......NBC Sports
1100 KWWN.....ESPN
1140 KXST......CBS Sports
1340 KRLV......Fox Sports

So 670 KMZQ instead of being the fifth sports station, it will now be the fourth commercial talk station, joining...

720 KDWN....Mostly local and brokered programming. Even at 50,000 watts full time, it has little interesting programming. It was the original flagship station for Art Bell but doesn't even have rights to Coast to Coast anymore.
790 KBET (and translator 104.7)....Runs Beck, Savage, Red Eye Radio, Alex Jones and several Fox shows.
840 KXNT....Runs the top shows, Rush, Hannity, Dave Ramsey and Coast to Coast.

KMZQ will join them with the Salem hosts, Mike Gallagher, Dennis Prager, Michael Medved, Larry Elder, Hugh Hewitt, along with independently syndicated Laura Ingraham.

OK, just noticed that KDWN has Hannity, not KXNT. It also has Mark Levin and Laura Ingraham. So Ingraham is not going to 670.

The one non-Salem show KMZQ is getting, according to what I read, is Jim Bohannon, from Westwood One.

SB Nation is the weakest of those. KDWN has America's Morning News and Ingraham, except that may be changing with this announcement.

Salem is serious about distributing their talk programming. Vegas is still well covered for sports talk. Detroit has all of the sport 'nets except ESPN.
