770 KKOB INCLUDED IN "TOP 20 NEWS" STATIONS OF AMERICA

The new owners of this board, Radio Ink, have taken a page from Michael Harrison and Talkers, the guy who bought the old domain name, and ranked the "top 20" news stations. Radio Ink's article says these ratings are based on "a station’s commitment to providing local information to the community, longevity in the format, revenue, ratings, and how the stations sound.

Not surprising WTOP comes out on top, given how high they place in ranking of station billings. Interesting that in New York where CBS has two all news stations, that 1010 WINS with the Group W news format, beat WCBS with the CBS all news format (KYW also retains a loose version of the Group W format). It's curious that LA's conservative talk station KFI is placed so much higher than all news KNX.
